Ferreira Lobo’s career is marked by an extensive international presence, having conducted opera and concerts in countries such as South Africa, Brazil, Germany, Austria, China, South Korea, Cyprus, Spain, USA, Egypt, France, the Netherlands, the UK, Greece, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Italy, Latvia, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Russia, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Turkey, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina, and Uruguay.
He has collaborated with prestigious ensembles including the Manchester Camerata, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Cannes Orchestra, Galicia Symphony Orchestra, Izmir Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Istanbul Symphony Orchestra, Istanbul CRR Orchestra, Eskisehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Radio and TV Orchestra, Cláudio Santoro National Theater Symphony Orchestra, Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic in Łódź, St. Petersburg Hermitage Orchestra, Zurich Symphony Orchestra (Tonhalle), Slovak Sinfonietta, Sinfonia Varsovia, Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra, National Orchestra of Athens, Seoul Classical Players, Rome Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Symphony, among many others. He has also worked with major Portuguese orchestras including those of Madeira, Algarve, Porto, and the Portuguese Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with renowned artists such as Krzysztof Penderecki, José Carreras, Júlia Hamari, Katia Ricciarelli, Eteri Lamoris, Regis Pasquier, Aiman Mussakhajayeva, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Michel Lethiec, Adriano Jordão, Pascal Rogé, Moura Lympany, Svetla Vassileva, José de Oliveira Lopes, Vincenzo Bello, Fiorenza Cossotto, among other internationally acclaimed performers.
Ferreira Lobo has performed in some of the world’s most important concert halls and has served as a juror in prestigious international competitions. He has conducted world premieres of works by French, Portuguese, Swiss, and Turkish composers. His wideranging repertoire spans classical, romantic, and contemporary works, with a particular focus on opera.
He is the creator of the winning project in the first competition for the establishment of Regional Orchestras launched by the Portuguese government, which led to the foundation of the Orquestra do Norte in 1992.
He has recorded for Portuguese Radio and Television, Swiss Radio (Radio Suisse Romande), and has released various audio and video recordings.
He currently serves as the General and Artistic Director of Ópera na Academia e na Cidade.
